What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage resembles Swedish massage but goes further and is intended for a different purpose. Deep tissue massage uses much of the same stroking and kneading motions as Swedish massage, but much more pressure exists. Deep tissue massage is used for chronic pain including aches, and contracted areas such as a strained neck and upper back, low back pain, tightness of the leg muscles, and sore shoulders. It helps to remove severe tension, improve range of motion, and heal injuries below the surface.
